Brush Fire Spreads In South Bay
SAN JOSE, Calif. - A San Jose Fire Department spokeswoman said Thursday firefighters are currently battling a grass fire in South San Jose that has reached three alarms and is not under control. The fire is burning in the hills near Curie Drive and Lean Avenue.
The fire is heading toward homes.
It was reported shortly after 3 p.m.
Fire officials said the fire has covered more than 20 acres and is quickly spreading. They said it is threatening a residential area.

Firefighters are battling a three-alarm grass fire that broke out in south San Jose this afternoon, a San Jose Fire Department spokeswoman said.
The fire, reported at around 3 p.m., is located near Curie Drive and Lean Avenue. Officials from the California Department of Forestry are assisting in protecting structures in the area, the spokeswoman said.
